Who We Are

Peninsula Access Ltd is a multi-skilled Civil Engineering company specialising in ‘difficult access’ works throughout the UK and Europe. It was formed in 2014 by experienced engineers to provide a specialist and tailored skillset for consultancies, structure owners and asset managers in response to an identified need within the marketplace for the provision of an experienced complete specialist service for inspection and maintenance.

We pride ourselves in delivering a high quality, innovative and friendly service to projects involving working at height, confined space or generally hard to get to sites. With a core background in engineering, inspection and maintenance, we have a wealth of experience in completing challenging work in a variety of environments.

In order to meet client requirements, we at PAL provide solutions for various difficult access needs in order to access sites to undertake a wide range of works. Our main access capabilities include the following methods and skills:

  • Commercial Diving (HSE)

A styles landscape

Alex Styles

Alex is an experienced Civil Engineer within the structural inspection division. He has more than 12 years’ experience in a wide variety of inspection, Surveying and structural repair related projects.

Over this time he has carried out underwater and above water inspections, surveys and rehabilitation works to culverts, viaducts, bridges, weirs, port facilities, service reservoirs etc.

He also has experience in roles such as a site/dive supervisor, project manager and has managed multidiscipline projects for a variety of clients.

Sam Radcliffe

Sam is joint Director with Alex and is the rope access manager and finance manager for Peninsula Access.

Sam came into the difficult access industry from university in 2007 and worked for a consultancy for seven years before starting Peninsula Access in 2014. While there, he worked as an engineer carrying out structural inspection, surveying and report writing for various clients on a whole host of structures from small railway bridges in South Wales to national structures on the motorway network. It was during this time that he gained considerable knowledge of diving, confined space and rope access works with the latter being his chosen field of expertise when gaining accreditation of IRATA level 3 in 2012.

Since starting Peninsula Access, Sam has further broadened his experience and access works and has continued to work on structures carrying out inspection and maintenance works.
